Final vote still to come

Cape Girardeau voters have spoken. With 61% in favor of a Cape casino, focus now moves back to the MO Gaming Commission where the real vote will decide the placement of Missouri’s 13th and last casino license. It is our prayer that the Commission will vote to withhold the granting of this last license. With 38% of Cape voters against the proposal, that number is certainly nothing for the Commission to neglect in their deliberations. Using purely economic reasons and rationale could tip them away from awarding the license to any of the three remaining locations. That would be best for Missouri economically, morally, and socially. Casinos make losers, not winners, out of Missourians. No vote will ever change that fact.
